the start of it all
Over fifty years ago, Danette Vincent’s love for photography began when her dad gifted her a camera. Mentored by Larry Songy, her lens became entwined with the vibrant street culture of New Orleans.
In 2005, Hurricane Katrina led Danette to create Youth Stop Inc. in Little Rock, AR, offering a haven for self-expression to twenty displaced youths across five States. Her dedication to empowering young minds through photography continues to inspire positive change in communities.
programs
Youth Stop Inc. has worked with several community-based organizations that serve underserved youth. They are from all walks of life; originally youth displaced due to Hurricane Katrina, homelessness, and local youth seeking after-school programs.
Our program encourages youth to document their lives, a hands-on approach to encourage students to develop trust in themselves, their talents, and their peers, take advantage of opportunities, and learn self-expression.
